Unveiling the Mysteries of The True Crime Genre
Tony Horne: Ghostwriter. Podcaster. Cruise Ship Speaker.
Dive into my world of gripping True Crime stories. You can google many of my subjects but I have actually been in the room with them.

Tony Horne
‘With a degree in Modern Languages, 25 years as a UK morning radio host, and over 30 ghostwritten books…words are all I have’.
That is how I began my first talk on cruise ships. It is all you need to know.
It looks like I have a masterplan to move through education to radio to print to speaking. The truth is that one thing led to another. I have always loved story-telling and admired people who are good with words. If you put those alongside my passion and curiosity towards True Crime, then this journey seems logical.
I have been fortunate enough to broadcast, podcast and write about some of the most notorious cases in British (and global) criminal history.
I love sharing these details with you and telling the stories behind the stories.

Professional Expertise
I owe much of my ghostwriting career to my friend the late PC David Rathband. Our book Tango 190 has meant that I have always had work since 2010. It has also served as my calling card. I am grateful that people who hire me, trust me on the basis of that book alone. If Only for Terry West, brother of Lesley Ann Downey, one of the Moors Murders victims has also been hugely significant. It remains, over a decade on, the book which still sells.
Initially, I resisted becoming a True Crime specialist. I wanted to be versatile. However, because of those two books, True Crime just kept finding me. I will always remind people though that I wrote a book on darts, and one for the first UK X Factor winner!
When I travelled as a passenger on a Caribbean Cruise and saw a guy giving a talk on the history of watches, I spent the rest of that trip thinking that surely, I had something more interesting to share with an audience. I hope that is true.
That’s how I got started!

"I met Tony on a Virgin Voyages sailing.
I was aware of who his was as I grew up listening to him on breakfast radio but had no idea of his current line of work.
His talks were informative, gripping and kept you on the edge of your seat.
I especially enjoyed his insight to the Roaul Moat shootings as it was fairly local to where I lived, however
all of the talks were very good."
